"Unable to load ebay categories file" and or "Error in ebay categories file". The first when I bring up my Mr. Poster and the second when I try to create a batch - and the batch I created yesterday had all it's categories wiped out. Is this an ongoing problem being worked on? Is this something I can correct? No one has to write an essay - just "everyone has this problem" "Mr. Poster is not working" "readjust your whatever in whatever" or "you need to e-mail Auctiva directly to get help". Please - someone???
What version of Mr. Poster are you using? I was able to list 500 auctions last night with version 1.64 with no problems. If you are not using 1.64, I would try updating to that version. If you are using 1.64, then I would file a support request: http://classic.auctiva.com/help/help.asp
No, you're not alone. On my brother's system, it's been dead for a week to 10 days. The most Auctiva can say about it is "update it once again". And, as you probably have experienced, Auctiva's updates are just as likely to break your installation as fix it.
Right now it's doing a category update for the eBay categories. At this point the programme has downloaded over **10MB** of XML files, with no *clue* as to how much more it will need. You'd think a download progress bar wouldn't be too much to ask for (oh yeah, I forgot, that's been patented already.

WHERE IS THAT UPDATE?! PLEASE SHARE!! I meant to scream, hoping someone will hear and answer. Sorry for the noise, but did anyone hear me?

Sorry, couldn't hear you above the Auctiva programmers sticking their fingers in their ears and making "La La La" noises....
3. extract all files in that zip to your Mr Poster directory, most likely: C:\Program Files\Auctiva\Mister Poster\

2 points on that:
1: why is it the only version available for download as an installer is **SO** obsolete it won't even work "out of the box" and absolutely *must* have an update to even work??? (mind you, the online update doesn't even work with the download version, you have to *manually* patch it). As I keep trying to remind you folks, NOT EVERYONE IS ON BROADBAND. I would rather grab periodic updates for my brother's computer that is still 56K dialup (if he's lucky, usually more like 45-48K), and is not likely to change anytime in the near future. I was doing a test setup on my own system (under VMware, as you don't seem interested in non-Windows users), and found the programme wouldn't even connect to the update site once it was installed. And this is even in a configuration whete I haven't (yet) lobotomized the MS Internyet Exploder you seem so intent on forcing us to use.
2: Why is it you won't even let end-users select the install directory? I always put *REAL* programmes in a C:\Apps directory; C:\Program Files is reserved for readily disposable driver-type files. Apps is for things that may need to be backed up; Program Files is for stuff that can be trashed at will. Is that what you want to consider MrPoster, something that can be trashed at will?
