I'm beyond sad and steamed at this point - I'm looking for a cliff to jump off of.

I was ready to go, I had spent all year rebuilding a 6-year-in-the-making business, I started posting the first batches on ebay Sunday night, money is sort of rolling in, things are sort of looking up. After 3 days of nonstop wrapping and shipping I finally got a chance to sit down and leave feedback and pay my ebay seller fees and was horrified to see a balance of over $7000.00 for approx. 350 listings ranging from 5 dollars to 5 cents apiece. My immediate thought was someone had hacked my account, but when I looked at my invoice I saw almost 200 of my listings had 19.95 gallery plus and 19.95 featured plus on them - nearly $40 in fees PER listing. I immediately went to my auctiva batches looking for some explanation, and saw my first listings had a dot next to the the usual "do not include my item in the gallery" and then switched to "feature my item in the gallery" and stayed that way for the rest of that batch. FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I don't remember ever checking that option and don't see how I could have accidentally clicked it with my mouse, but obviously that's what I did somewhere along the line because I have no other explanation.

BUT WHAT GETS ME is WHERE WAS AUCTIVA'S WARNING that some of my listings had gallery features attached to them???? I KNOW I've gotten that warning in the past when I intentionally added the 35 cent gallery photo to some of my listings. As usual auctiva was up and down sunday night when I put up my batches - I kept getting script timeout errors - I don't know if that has anything to do with my not being issued a 'gallery warning' or not.

Also, to add to the confusion, your three options are
"do not include my item in the gallery"
"add my item to the gallery" (here "gallery" means 35 cent photo)
"feature my item in the gallery" (here "gallery" suddenly means Gallery Featured $19.95 AND Featured Plus! - $19.95)

Anyway, I don't know what else to do but get down on my knees and beg ebay for mercy. I've already ended the remaining 250 listings, but the problem is these were all fixed price, and although I'm a TINY BIT confident ebay may refund me for the unsold listings I ended early, I'm scared they'll charge me for the 67 items already sold that did have the features on them. That's well over $2600.00. I didn't benefit from those features as I was taking in what I normally do without them, and while I'm at it I'm here to confirm what most people probably know - those 19.95 features do NOT help beef up sales.

So here I sit - it's been 3 days and as usual no response from ebay customer support. Maybe Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday I'll get a form letter response. If the outcome is good, I'll post a follow-up and appreciate it if anybody else could add a similar experience to this thread. If I don't post a follow-up, my obit in my local paper was posted instead.

Ebay credited me in full. I have alternately praised and scorned ebay in the past, but from now on, no matter how dire the straits, I will never complain against ebay again. Auctiva, on the other hand, gets a big slap, for not warning me. I'll slap myself, too, for not seeing that change.
