Of course, that all depends on what the item is. It's certainly conceivable that a penny auction could be for something that costs $20.00 to ship. The cost of the item has nothing to do with the shipping.
The excessive shipping that really should be stopped is stuff that's extremely obvious. I can't imagine eBay is going to waste their time ending auctions because they think the seller is charging two dollars too much for shipping. But the guy charging $30.00 to ship a memory stick? Yeah, that's an easy one.
One of the arguments I like is that if people would quit buying from those sellers then they'd quit doing it or they'd go away. But that won't happen because (a) a lot of people only worry about the total dollar amount and if that amount is a good deal, and (b) too many people don't bother to read the complete listing before bidding.
