Good day, people.
May be some one know? Why is such elimination of quality? In 4 times. In place of 207 Kb I get 45.5 Kb. It is a wide difference. From here question, why I must outlay the heap of time, to get a high-quality photo. In fact will the system put to death quality however?! And here Auctiva takes a money for it.
That for lawlessness?

We recently expanded the size of a picture that we can accept and store from 1024 x768 pixels to 1280 x 1024 pixels. Pictures smaller than 1280 x 1024 weren't affected by that change, which we made on March 24. This change didn't effect quality; it just allowed us to store and display a large size image.

I checked our support case database just now & while I see the usual problems people have with the Java and ActiveX uploader, I'm not seeing reports of image quality problems like you mention here.

exbildman, I looked at the listings you have on eBay and pic quality looks good...with exception of one that is partially out of focus due to focusing error when pic was snapped.

Vickie, I looked at some of your auctions on eBay & the pics I saw there were OK quality wise.

Bottom line is...we have not changed anything in a way to make quality worse. I'm not saying that there couldn't be a problem somewhere, but I looked and I'm not seeing quality problems like you are both mentioning.
Thank You for response.
But fact is that.

When i upload with Opera + Java, i get instead 207 Kb - 44.59 Kb size.
When i use basic HTML uploader, i get 25.86 Kb instead 207 Kb.
When i use Internet Explorer with ActifX, i get 44.59 Kb.

What there is the problem?!
Why i can't get picture with size what i need?!

I understand, that quality of pictures not so bad. But anyway i can't use this quality for page design. Small pictures, icons with small details looks soaped.
Earlier was not such problems like now.
