I do not have an ebay store. I decided it wasn't worth it for me - I am a low volume seller just starting out. However, I am trying to practice with my auctiva store.

THe problem is I can't seem to figure out how to get my listings to show up in my auctiva store categories.

I have been using the folder system, thinking it would synchronize with the store categories. But it seems that was a waste of my time. Help!

Thank you in advance.

Hi Sumner,

In order to create custom search categories for your Auctiva store, please click the "Search Categories" link under the "My Account" tab within your account.

For listings to appear in a search from your Custom Category, the keywords specified for that search must appear in the titles of your listings. If you set your Match Logic to “All Words”, the search results will only return listings with titles containing all of your keywords. If you set it to “Any Words”, the search results will return listings with titles containing any one of your keywords.

Hi Servant_Warrior,

Thanks for pointing that out. You're seeing correctly; I just wasn't typing (or thinking) correctly when I posted my last message. I just reviewed my response and I did indeed incorrectly type the path to the "Search Categories" link. What I intended to say is as follows:

In order to create custom search categories for your Auctiva store, please click the "Search Categories" link under the "Store" tab within your account.

I am also having trouble with my Auctiva categories. I have a EBay store and a domain auctiva site. The EBay store categories are correct but I just don't know what I'm doing wrong with the Auctiva categories. Some categories are correct but some have incorrect items or no items at all in the categories. My store is www.texasthreestar.com If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it? Between setting up my EBay store and my Auctiva store, my gray matter is gone! Thanks for any help! Donie
Hi Donie,

I just reviewed your Auctiva store and all of your search cateogries appear to be working correctly given the keywords and search logic you specified for each. When using the "Any Words" key logic, a custom search will all listings with ANY of the specified keywords in your title. Therfore, if you are specifying keywords that are present in the titles of different types of items, that will result in different types of items being returned by that search.

Hi Donie,

You're welcome. It looks like there was a hiccup in our system that caused anotehr record of that active listing to be imported into your account when one was already present. I have removed this duplicate, so it is no longer present in your Auctiva account.

If you ever have a similar experience, or if you would like additional assistance, please file a support reqeust using the appropriate link on our help page: http://www.auctiva.com/free-auction-software-help/help.aspx
