I just updated to the newest version on Firefox because the old didn't allow me to search on Ebay for anything. Updated fixed Ebay issue but now I am not able to edit or enter any listing description. All I see is an HTML code. There is suppose to be some kind of toolbar there, to add an image etc but it's gone. It works on most recent Internet explorer however which tells me that there is some kind of issue between Auctiva and Firefox. I had this issue before but updating to new Firefox version fixed that. Well, now it is not. I mean, what am I paying for $20.00 each month? Anybody care about it?

Hi Igor,

Thanks for contributing to our forum. Although I am uncertain whether you are seeing this behavior on the Auctiva lister page or the eBay Revise your Item form, the first thing I recommend checking out is whether you may be viewing the description editor in HTML mode.

If that is the case, just click the “Source” (Auctiva) or “HTML” (eBay) tab along the top of the description editor and it should change back to Standard mode, which should allow you to see the toolbar that you are accustomed to working with.

I hope this helps. If you are indeed seeing this behavior on the Auctiva site and you need further assistance with the issue, please contact our Customer Support team by mousing over the “Help” tab within your account and selecting the “File Support Case” option.

Hello again,

I have done some additional research on this since responding to your message earlier today and discovered that the is a compatibility issue between the old version of the description editor offered on our site and Firefox 17.0 so, if your account has not been configured to use the new editor we have available, I suspect you are encountering this issue.

Assuming that is the case, you should be able to work around this issue by updating your account to use our new editor called the “Design Editor v2.0”. This can be done by mousing over the “My Account” tab within your account, selecting the “Acct Preferences” option under Settings, checking the box next to “Use Design Editor v2.0” in the Listing Management section, and then clicking the “Update My Account Preferences” button below.

We are actually in the process of phasing out the use of the old editor on our site due to similar conflicts with other browsers that have come up recently and, once you have updated your account to use the new editor, it will not be possible to go back to using the old one.

Igor,

MY FREE advise...DO NOT SWITCH unless you absolutely can not list without it!!

Here is the link for ONE of the threads discussing that:

https://community.auctiva.com/e...107022626#2107022626

What you are not being told here is...once you switch YOU CAN NOT switch back to the old. I do not specifically remember the problem I was told to switch for, but it DID NOT resolve the issue and has made listing harder in my case.

Eventually, like Auctiva said, you will have to, but I would NEVER, EVER have switched knowing I could not go back. ESPECIALLY, when the google chrome had a HUGE manfunction that was fixed only to have another issue that each time you hit ENTER it skips lines. It has not been fully functioning for a few months. For myself I have asked to go back to the old editor until problem is solved with the new in google chrome.

Others have asked for choice.

My question for auctiva is...this worked at one point in any browser, why is this all of a sudden not working in same browser. As previously mentioned I am not a techie person. Perhaps if I understood how something works and then all of a sudden it does not is confusing to me and I would assume to others.

Also, what are the great features of the new one that we did not have on the other one? Since I can't do a full comparision because I can't go back...just curious. Maybe there is something on there that I would find fabulous for my needs if I knew what to look for.

Now...obviously I do know what I liked about the old one that is not on the new one.

Just my thought and others may LOVE the new editor!
