I'm not sure I'm in the right category for this question, but can anyone tell me what I can do about the scary html coding that shows up in my ebay listing? I am of the belief that nice neat code makes a page load faster. I create clean code for my template. But when I paste it in the text editor, preview it, and come back to the text editor to modify it, it turns into GARBAGE! I end up with repetitious tags that have no purpose. Sure everything looks okay, but I know that all that junk is slowing down my page loading time and that is not okay.

Anyone have suggestions about how to resolve this issue? Thanks so much.

Hey Karen..

I know that happens when one copies from Microsoft Word and then pastes into the form...sometimes.

It will place those whacked out characters.

Are you using ragtag for cleaning up your code?

Also I would assume you're not using Microsoft Word right, since you're a MAC girl..right? OR are you?

That's bout the only thing I know.

Good Luck,
Donna
Hi Donna,
Thanks for the reply. Actually I do use Word sometimes, but not for html. I use Dreamweaver in html code view. I don't really think I need ragtag (although I'm not familiar with it) because I know how to write and clean-up the code myself -- or at least how to tweak it so it's respectable. The problem occurs somewhere on Auctiva's end . . . or else I'm not doing something right when I copy and paste my coding into their editor.

Karen
