hi there,
after switching over to the web based service from auctiva classic i was prompted to follow the links to obtain an ebay token. after getting to the ebay sign in screen and putting in my user name and password it goes to ebay for a second it goes to a internet explorer screen that says...

"This program cannot display the webpage"

i've spent the better part of the last couple of days trying to use auctiva's new service. i made a request for help from auctiva and was told it was ebay's problem contact them. since it's ebays problem i combed the message boards, their help pages, tried to contact them. nothing. did everything the ebay "community" experts suggested. nothing. can't get a token, can't use the service.
i've spent countless hours in the last week trying to stay a auctiva customer and after more than 10 years with them, i'm about done. any ideas out there?

I reviewed your support case and we recommended that you contact eBay directly to resolve this problem. I notice that our analyst wrote to you that we had contacted eBay about your specific problem, and that eBay was working to resolve it.

If we could fix this for you, we would, but the problem is caused by something going awry on eBay's site with respect to your account, and only they can help you with it.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but your best bet is to get directly in touch with eBay support yourself.
tony,
yeah i've tried to contacted ebay support and if i can fiqure out how to get thru we'll see if they can help me use your product (have you clicked the "contact us" button at ebay lately? whew what a maze). the thing that kind of surprises me is... auctiva has probably been thru this many times with ebay and i could really use the benefit of that experiance. but the extent of your advice to me is talk to ebay. have you learned anything about this problem that might help me resolve it...to the benefit of us both?

I would like to inform you that the token has not yet being generated. You can inform this to Auctiva.

i'm aware of that kurt. when i go to ebay to generate the token ebay's system does this as stated above...after getting to the ebay sign in screen and putting in my user name and password it goes to ebay for a second it goes to a internet explorer screen that says...

"This program cannot display the webpage"

Token are generated by third party and not eBay.
11:06:36 AM blusinatra
please kurt. mary ann m. was doing something in the 10 minutes she had me on hold. maybe she found a solution. and are you telling me that ebay lets third parties generate tokens to access customer accounts. sounds like a dangerous ebay policy. are you sure? makes more sense to say that third parties generate requests for tokens that ebay must then either accept or deny.

kurt then apparently hung up and i got to take a customer satisfaction survey.
Hi Community,

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us about this issue. I understand that some of you have not been able to get any assistance with this matter from eBay's customer support team, but the fact of the matter is that the issue is occurring due to a technical problem on the eBay side of things (as Tony mentioned earlier in this thread) so there just isn't anything we can do to *fix* it from our end.

We did open a support case with eBay’s Developer Support team a while back to bring the issue to their attention and, while they filed an internal report about the issue, they have not been able to get back to us with an estimate of when the issue may be resolved.

We have dealt with some customers who were being impacted by this problem that were eventually able to generate their tokens successfully after retrying several times and/or attempting to do so using a different browser, so there does seem to be some intermittency to the issue.

Therefore, all we can really recommend to any users who are being sent to this “Page Cannot be Displayed” page after entering their eBay log in information during the token generation process is to continue to try again and perhaps give it a shot using a different browser.

I’m sorry there is not more we can do to help with this, but I hope this information helps clarify the situation a bit more.

-Mike
