whole page background color

I'm sure the entire page of the template is what is meant. Somebody please answer, because I have often wondered how to do this myself.

Ditto on the sounds. Think about it - you're sitting there at work, checking out the lingerie listings (for your wife of course), wondering why it's taking so long to download, when all of a sudden this MP3 track starts blaring, you're frantically reaching for the volume control knob, everybody starts to stare, your boss walks in, they all see the screen full of ladies "intimates"..... NO SALE! Eek

Kryptoknight, and myself were asking how to change the backround color of the entire TEMPLATE (as opposed to just the backround of the text or headings). We did not mean the entire page, i.e. the area outside the template as well. There must be a way because some standard Auctiva templates already have completely non-white backrounds.

On ebay's "revise your listing" page, the description box includes the entire template, not just the "description" portion of the template. Perhaps this semantic confusion is the cause of our seeming lack of agreement.

Yep, confusion is rampant using text! That's why I asked originally. Big Grin

Is this your own template or one of Auctiva's?

The colour change is down with bgcolor coding, and sometimes tables. Depending on how complex your template is.

You can grab the code for an auctiva template that has a coloured background, and change the numbers.
I think we're thinking a little too complex here. All I'm talking about is changing the background color in the description from white to another color. There need be no template. Just the background. For example, for seasonal--changing the background to black and the text to orange. (just an example) or red on a blue background. When you start adding templates, I know that can alter the colors because of blending, and will take some playing around with it. But simple basic colors of one color on one background should be easy, right? I just don't know how.

You need standard table coding to change the background default~white. That means using a basic template.

If you want your pictures to have the same background, you need a more involved html template with the proper coding for images. Otherwise just your description(words) will have the coloured background.

Using templates is very easy,
IF you read/set-up/do things in the proper order. Big Grin

You could have 4 'seasonal' templates, do 4 basic listings---save them, then 'create similar' from them.
