Hi. Using Auctiva is there a way to edit more than just price and a few other key details before relisting a similar item or can that only be done on ebay?

Also, I notice it allows you to create a new listing using the info from a saved listing but the only one to choose from is not the one I want to use. Is there a way to import ended auctions into the saved section or how can I accomplish this?

Yes, I believe you just checkmark the closed listings you want to import to saved listings and then click the box "Import Listings." It may take some time to make it there, but you should see them show up in Saved Listings in less than an hour. Then you can choose the Saved Listing you wish to edit and make any changes you want before listing the item. Now, if this is an item to be RELISTED and you want to edit the template, you will have to do that through eBay using the procedure below, lovingly provided by Danno, the most knowledgeable person who regularly helps everyone on this message board with questions. PROCEDURE TO EDIT BEFORE RELISTING
Create the changes with Auctiva's lister and save, but don't list. Use the <HTML> to get the code from the Saved Listing page and copy it/replace the code in the ebay description section using the ebay Relist editor. You need to be careful to replace all but the Scrolling Gallery code, which is marked with ASW tags at beginning and end. The Preview on the ebay relist editor will confirm the copy worked before you relist.
Hi thanks for the reply!
Okay this is what's making me confused...I did everything what you said to use a template...the only thing is I didn't want to post the auction right away, I wanted to also schedule it after I edited. Is it okay to use the "newly saved edited version" and reschedule it? Will I still get my insertion fee credit if the item sells? I just scheduled it so I guess I'm hoping it works!
You can only get the Relist credit from eBay by using the Relist feature on the Closed Listings page at Auctiva or a Relist at eBay (usual methods there). Note, Auctiva Auto-Relist also qualifies for the credit, when it's applicable.

A listing submission from Saved Listings is treated as a new listing with no prior history (no eligibility for relist credit).

The method JeanieB suggests is done as part of the Relist process at eBay, i.e. use their editor in HTML mode during Relist to update the description section of the listing with Auctiva template. Delete the entire section before you paste to do 100% replacement. Use PREVIEW before you Relist to verify the HTML copy worked. You can also export the code for the Scrolling Gallery and insert on the listing. Use the Scrolling Gallery HTML feature on the Store tab main page to get the code for copy and paste to eBay with the eBay editor in HTML mode.

Hmm..this is getting to be more complicated than I thought. I probably shouldn't have messed with the templated until I started doing new auctions. If I cancel the post before the scheduled time will ebay still charge me the insertion fees?

Also, are you saying if I import my old auction to the "saved listings" I can't just relist there for credit? So therefore I can't schedule my auction on auctiva...I have to manually do it on ebay at the time I want it (if I want to do it for free, which in this case I do)?
IF you cancel a listing in the scheduler, no fee charges. You only get charge if it lists.

If you Import the listing to Saved Listings, it's like any other Saved Listing. eBay doesn't know it's eligible for relist credit, as any submission from Saved Listings isn't a Relist (treated as new listing).

If you need to schedule and the changes aren't possible from Auctiva (more than their limited changes for Relist), it would have to be done as Relist at eBay and scheduled using their scheduler and scheduling fee. Frown

You would need to do the Relist at eBay on the Day-Time you want to avoid a scheduling fee of 10 cents. When I have the problem, I just pay the fee. It's too much hassle to try to have it ready for Relist at the precise day-time and you never know when there might be a problem that blocks getting it done on time.
