WTF Auctiva - sort this mess out NOW. I have been unable to to list anything for days now because of the problems when trying to list. Apart from jumping all over the place, when I try edit text, the backspace key won't work, whole sections of text dissappear or get moved down the description, text gets resized, sometimes in different fonts and colours and as for the preview....well it's the same as above.

I have wasted hours just trying to get a single item listed. Someone said that they started a new listing from scratch and had no problems. Well, I tried that and after a few minor problems it looked like I was getting there. I made one final edit of my text, went to preview and the whole f****** thing was all screwed up again!

Don't try to tell me it's my computer or any of the other "we haven't had this before" excuses.

Apart from the odd glitch, things were fine up to this week. I say ditch all the so called improvements and go back to the previous system.

This is costing me a lot of time and money. Mad

Hi,

I looked at some of your old posts and saw that the corruption problem is ongoing.

I saw a link to your store http://stores.ebay.co.uk/OLD-C...AZINES-and-BROCHURES and checked the first listing I could click. I immediately spotted that the code is incompatible due to being copied from Microsoft Office / Word, which uses a different mark-up language than HTML. There is a button to paste code from Word on the toolbar. It (hopefully) strips the bad code, leaving the text.

Hope that helps.

I am having the same problems - click on to remove a photo and have to do it 4 or 5 times - click to change or modify the template and it skips around the page. Auctions I've done have ended up with tiny print when I always use the Medium. I do not use Word - I type in everything - this has been happening for the last week - what have you changed that is doing this?
Hi candy,

If that "doing this?" is directed at me, I don't work for Auctiva nor get paid to post. However, I do believe you. Have you entered a support case?

I'm not having any significant problems with IE7 and Firefox. I did have to update the uploader code and perhaps one or two pages on the site needed a browser refresh to finally sync (the usual cache update issue).

I do believe they may have updated the description box code product. That may elicit more than the prior level of rejections of incompatible code, like that coming from Word.

Thanks for your reply Danno. I read in another post that the Word code is incompatible and it was suggested to use Notepad instaed. I did this for the listing I began from scratch, and like I said, I was almost there until I made one last edit to my listing and it all went pear shaped again.

The edit I done was to copy the hyperlink to my ebay store from my listing. But instead of reading "Visit my eBay Store" it displayed the full URL. I'm not sure now what I done, but I tried to change the hyperlink to read "Visit my eBay Store", but without success.

Any suggestions?
H rustyIt2,

Did you switch the box to HTML mode to copy/add the hyperlink code?

The correct code should be something like (no finesse):

<a href="http://stores.ebay.co.uk/OLD-CAR-MAGAZINES-and-BROCHURES">Visit my eBay Store</a>

The anchor tags <a> </a> surround the element/text displayed and the href in the tag is the actual URL link.

Hi Danno

below is the section of html in question (I couldn't figure out how to copy and paste it so I copied it manually!)

I'm a real novice when it comes to html so could you please show me where to insert the Visit My eBay Store text into thye code in case I screw it up?

<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: centre"><U><FONT color=#0000ff><A href="http://stores.ebay.co.uk/OLD-CAR-MAGAZINES-and-BROCHURES?
refid=store="TEXT-ALIGN: center"> </P><PRE class=standard1 style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px; WORD-WRAP: break-word"> </PRE>
<P> </P>
Hi,

Well....I added code and cleaned the syntax to compliment what I see (or don't see) to complete what's in the paragraph wrapper including that text and closure tags for the anchor, font, and U/underline. There is some incomplete/broken code there too, that I removed. It followed the ?/query string on the URL, which I don't think is needed for a store link. Try this.

<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: centre"><u><font color="#0000ff"><a href="http://stores.ebay.co.uk/OLD-CAR-MAGAZINES-and-BROCHURES">Visit my eBay Store</a></font></u></p><pre class=standard1 style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 0px; WORD-WRAP: break-word"> </pre><p> </p>

Hi Community,

The issue discussed in this thread is related to the upgrade of the description editor that was included in our site release earlier this week. I have posted about this issue on the following thread in the "News" section of our community forum: https://community.auctiva.com/e...081020411/m/41210619
