So many new users are shocked to find their listings disappear after first joining Auctiva. It is usually left to the board posters to calm their panic. There seems to be some strong feelings about this so I thought a Poll would be interesting and may encourage Auctiva to try to find a solution to the problem.

This can be easily fixed as evidenced by earlier posts. A static thread with answers to commonly posted questions. IE Maintenance and disappearance of listings for indexing. As Shadeaux mentioned a sticky at the top much like "read this first" but I would suggest setting it up as a completely separate category that no one can post to.
A FAQ category perhaps. Not too much to ask for is it Jeff?
Come on folks 120 views and only 7 votes Frown this could make a difference, surely you are all not so mercenary that you won't help others avoid heartache.

And don't forget all those who just run away without joining reduce the customer base which in turn reduces funds available to Auctiva to continue giving us such a great set of tools, even more so that they are all free.

So more users the more money Auctiva makes and the more you make so come on vote for what's best Smile
Well booklady I expect Auctiva has a form of contract with eBay to allow them API access (a programming conection to allow them to access eBay on our behalf with their software). So they probably have to toe the eBay line on some issues. You, I and others have raised issues before this one many times before and being the thorniest, jets-pro welcome to Auctiva from the community your listings will reappear despite you being the latest victim. Mad
Hi.
Auctiva - Support, I sincerely apologize for bumping with no comment.

Jets-pro, your listings will reappear once they're indexed again. It's normal and happens when anyone first starts with a third party listing service, such as Auctiva.

When you need help with anything, look around for an existing thread and feel free to start your own as needed. Smile Welcome to Auctiva!

Hi Choo. Cool
well,I'm new, as of this past weekend.
I had no idea what happened to my listings for hours. I had a panic attack, but figured there had to be a reasonalbe explanation. Looked at the Help topics it wasn't there, so then I was convinced it was unique to me. Hadn't found the boards yet....
Another guy was considering registering and transferring too....I told him they were gone...He didn't answer me....I knew I lost them.
The consiparacy theory that it has to do with the relationship with ebay doesn't seem logical, but then neither does not alerting newbies they will lose their listings.
Why doesn't this make sense? There is obviously some politics happening here or there would be an explanation of some sort posted. JMHO
Yes, N contractural politics laced with business economics, that is why as a business a statistical view is taken (so I have been reliably informed). The fact you and many others get their world turned upside down for a few days* is not apparently cause for serious concern as you are a small percentage of the new customers.

What needs to be remembered by some is that "time is money" in business, whether you are an established mighty corporation or a seller just starting off on eBay.

*To explain 'days' rather than hours - this happens when a newbie thinks they have done something wrong and lost lots of work, contact eBay who are slow to respond, then find out about the forums etc. for the lucky ones they find us here and get it 'resolved' quickly.

I expect most people who take up selling on ebay are not software professionals hence they have a steep learning curve, it is easy to forget this when you are in a software based business.

I am new to Auctiva and I have to say this is total BS. My listings have REALLY REALLY suffered because of this nonsense, as have my sales. It took me several days to figure out that it was because of AUCTIVA that my listings were being delayed by 8+ hours and not the other various reasons ebay support offered. Unfortunately, I've already listed all that I have for now and I have to sit and watch them tank thanks to this "service". My sales are down more than 75% comp. to listings I normally do using Turbolister or SSB.

I thought I'd give this service a try and save myself the $7 fee for using another service...SO not worth it. Auctiva and this ridiculous lag time have cost me hundreds of dollars in BIN sales...down the drain, kaput.

Never again. You really should have warned a new user that this would happen- I never would have continued with the service.

I'm an extremely disgruntled, dissatisfied *FORMER* user. Hopefully this poll will cause the company to warn future users so that they don't go through the heartache I have...
