Is it possible to request that you change your maintenance night to an earlier day in the week.

Thursday nights is too close to the weekend when everyone is trying to get their listings on.

I am located in Thailand therefore we are approx. 11 hrs ahead of US time (New York). So your maintenance time is right in the middle of the day for us when we are trying to get our listings onto eBay before the weekend.

Also the noted times that maintenance takes place is many times much longer and also sometimes on Friday mornings. This means Friday night for us. I have tried to schedule my time around your noted maintenance times but it's difficult when they are not what you are telling us. This can be really frustrating.

I see on your forum that many other people find this frustrating too. Perhaps it would be better for everyone if you could change your maintenance day to Monday or Tuesday night.

I hope this will be possible. I hope you will pass this on to customer complaints/feedback. I hope you will use this feedback constructively to improve your service to your users.

Fingers crossed everyone!! Roll Eyes

I totally agree with the previous posting. I am in the UK and it is 11 oclock on Friday morning and I can't list my items for the weekend. The maintenance times always seem to continue well into Friday morning here. Why not have it at the beginning of the week? There are other free image hosting sites and I have been making more use of them recently. But I would prefer to stay with Auctiva. But its not reliable enough lately.
Yes I totally agree with the comments from everyone regarding the maintenance time as I am in Australia & it is 8.30pm I cannot do any listings on a Friday night - as I work during the day this time is crazy and not good for anyone - do Auctiva actually read these comments it would be a good idea to consider a better time for everyone - PLEASE CHANGE IT !!!

Well I see my topic has provoked quite a response from many other frustrated users. I'm sure there are many more out there too. This is also not the first time this has come up for discussion. So why does it remain this way??????? I see no response from Auctiva support though.... maybe they're tired of answering the same complaints over & over. Mmm.

Auctiva please take note of user feedback. There is no point providing a service if you do not learn and improve from users dissatisfaction especially when this is repeated every week and the complaints roll in again.

There are so many other bugs on Auctiva that everyone has repeated frustrations with. Moving the maintenance night to an earlier night in the week would seem quite an easy solution for this complaint at least.

1. we'd all be happier
2. your technical team would have less complaints & more time to deal with other issues
3. you may actually win over some new users or better still 'keep your current users'.

IT'S ALL COMMON SENSE ISN'T IT???
I totally agree with all other users about the craziness of Auctiva's selected maintenance time.
If you do a forum search for 'site maintenance' this issue has been going on since 2005!!!
I know Auctiva is free to use so I guess we can't complain too much but don't you think it's about time to listen and change the time? Considering that less than 10% of any business's customer's actually voice their complaints to the business. The other 90% give bad word of mouth to their family, friends and acquaintances.
What is it exactly that happens during this maintenance anyway and why does it take so long?
Would it be so hard to move it to Monday or Tuesday night?
If it's only making a backup of data, I'm sure in this day and age it could be done in the background for weekly backups and have the big daddy backup once a month when you take Auctiva offline for hours on end
