"Ya'll" – my mom's favorite word. Lakeland must be in northern Florida!

Then your Momma is a dayum fine woman in my book!
<smile>

Born and Bred Many Generationed Southerner here. My roots hail from VA, W.VA, GA, MS. I can't imagine a person not using the term ya'll..it's a staple in my vocab. <smile>

Lakeland is in Central Florida. Smack dab in the middle tween Mickey Mouse World and Tampa.

Thanks for the morning smile,
Donna

So tell me, is there much of a dichotomy between the Southerners who say "y'all" and "you all"? I'm from Texas but nobody says "you all" here. But all those Southern Belles in the movies...

I was raised with the term ya'll. It's second nature to me.

Hubster has family in Tennessee and they say...you'uns. I'd never heard that before.

Ya'll is just the lazy way to say you all. <smile>

Southernese is a language unto itself! (And not that Jeff Foxworthy comedy act either <harumph>Wink I was raised by a southern lady and a true to the core southern gentleman...how blessed am I!

True Southern Ladies can turn even the most steel-like of backbones to jelly.

A really tight girlfriend of mine lives in Texas and LOVES it there! Said she loves the way Texans TRULY love their state with a passion!

Have a great one Rick!
