Hi everyone,

I have been at this for HOURS with no success. I would like the layout of my page to be like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item...=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=020

I need the photos to be within the box with the border like in the listing with the info formatted on the right. How do I do that?

I am so frustrated! Please help me.

Hi,

The listing is using basic HTML tables. The lower portion is using at least a two column table for that divide. I checked the left side pictures, and they are 600H x 450W pixels (4:3 aspect ratio, i.e. standard digital cam). Template width appears to be around the 900 pixels range for balance and the borders are all standard colors (no frills).

Very clean design with just a few bumps and wrinkles in their coding that show as page layout flaws. BTW...I like that simplicity, very attractive. Smile I see they're a PS. I'd bet this one looks good in the New Design listing format too.

The Auctiva Orignal size images with no Supersize function could be used for substitution in the left column of images. Either the original image or URL for original should work. If you use that method, I'd stick with the same "portrait" type presentation and reduce the stored images to exactly 600 x 450 for fast load times.

What are you using for an edtior?

Edit: Morning Coffee Challenge....

I removed all the proprietary images, etc. and did a slight restyling to fix some of the problems. I fixed the width at 930 pixels for the new IFRAME design, but it can easily be adjusted. I embedded the Auctiva tags for 12 URL Original images and the description.

Hi Lise,

If you click on the second link in my prior post, you will find a link at the bottom of the Practicewriter page to "Edit this document". That will take you to a new page where the HTML code is displayed at the top of the page. Copy and paste that code to create a new Template using Auctiva's Create you own Template (look lower right on Listings tab page).

The layout is simple basic tables, so it's a good template to use in the learning process for new coders.

It's free for everyone's use, as their are no proprietary features or functions on the template.

Hi Folks,

For demonstration purposes, I listed the template in the eBay sandbox for viewing in the New IFRAME Design (also called Split Domain).

http://cgi.sandbox.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110035361648

For this demo, I set the upper and lower main tables to operate at exactly 928 pixel width. This achieves absolute dead center on the New Design page for 1024x768 or higher monitor viewing. The upper and lower portions of the page operate at 940px width and the IFRAME is indented 3px from left margin. Due to lack of CELLPADDING OR CELLSPACING on the IFRAME undimensioned table, there is an unfortunate further indent of 3px that surrounds the template. Therefore, 928px causes the IFRAME to operate at 934px with a resulting 6px margin to left side of the template. Whether eBay will correct this oversight after beta of the New Design is unknown.

For those interested in a full discussion of custom template redesign in the IFRAME, I've just completed 7 days of testing in the Sandbox and will try to start a Forum thread in the next few days to discuss results and options.
