I love the video that's included.
Truly a southern lady, gracious, humble and more.

She's a phenom teacher. Words cannot describe how great a teacher this woman is and an inspiration to live life to the fullest!

She travels the world every break, spring, summer, winter. She's been to every corner of the world many times over.

I've been blessed to have been invited to sit in on her class a few times and even was invited to speak/teach once on a subject near and dear to my heart, writing. Not to mention my children and the life lessons learned from her. I didn't go to this high school (I went to the high school rivalry, ha) but how I wish I could've had her.

My 16 year old just got finished studying MacBeth and onto Merchant of Venice.

Fun conversations! <smile>

In the last few years, I've been slowly working my way through Shakespeare again.

I can't read the title of this thread without thinking of Maya Angelou's poem. I can hear powerful readings of it in my head...it was a favorite at college poetry slams. I was always amazed how a powerful reading could bring new life to a poem.

About that teacher...it makes me think of my high school American History teacher. She was TOUGH but knew her stuff. She'd been teaching it for many, many years, and still teaches. She is in her 80s at least, maybe 90s.
