I was listing my items last night & tried to spellcheck. At first the description box would come up, but none of my written description showed up & nothing else happened. Just like spellcheck had stalled out.
So went on to another listing and clicked onto spellcheck & this time my description came up, but no words were highlighted (usually there are many from me abbreviating something) and once again, the screen stayed & just stalled doing nothing or giving me any messages.
What's going on, does anyone know?
I use Windows 7, IE 9

Hi MarleneM,

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing.

Although I am not aware of any current technical difficulties that would explain why you are encountering this behavior while using Internet Explorer 9.0, there is a compatibility issue between the spell check tool on the newer description editor you are using and Internet Explorer 10.0 which can cause behavior of this nature.

Our technical team is currently working on a solution for this issue and we expect to be able to get the spell check feature on this editor working properly with Internet Explorer 10.0 as part of an upcoming site update.

Can you please check whether your copy of Internet Explorer may have been automatically updated from version 9.0 to 10.0? You can confirm which version of Internet Explorer you are running by selecting “About Internet Explorer” from the “Settings” menu.

If you find that you are indeed using Internet Explorer 10.0, you can potentially work around this issue for the time being by using the Mozilla Firefox of Google Chrome web browsers instead, which can be downloaded at no cost from http://www.mozilla.com and http://www.google.com/chrome respectively

If you are indeed using Internet Explorer 9.0 and you continue to encounter this behavior, please contact our Customer Support team from under the “Help” tab on our site and we will be happy to continue working with you on this.

Hi MarleneM,

No problem!

Based on what you described seeing when selecting the "About IE" option, it definitely sounds like your copy of Internet Explorer was updated to version 10.0 and that your system is configured to download new updates to Internet Explorer automatically.

As I mentioned previously, our technical team is currently working on a solution for this issue and we expect to be able to get the spell check feature on this editor working properly with Internet Explorer 10.0 as part of an upcoming site update.

In the mean time, you can potentially work around the issue by temporarily switching to the Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome web browser, which can be downloaded at no cost using the links I mentioned in my last message.

-Mike
