It looks like it's an issue of the HTML that is in your item description. Did you paste this HTML in from another source? Like Microsoft Word or Dreamweaver?

To get it to show up as you want, once you're in the editor, highlight the text that is showing up as red in the editor and then specifically select the "text color" from the buttons in the editor. Select red (or whatever color) and now you'll notice in the preview that it properly comes up red.

Not sure exactly why it's working like this. I'll look into it some more.
