I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you have been experiencing. I have not heard of this specific behavior before, so I am hopeful that this occurred due to some sort of isolated glitch and will not turn out to be something you have to deal with regularly when uploading your images.

I just responded to the thread you mentioned posting in the “Listings” area of our forum and, provided you encountered this glitch at the same time as the others, it seems very possible that this was caused by the same issue (possibly connectivity related) that led to the behavior you described on that thread.
