Add image to active listing doesn't actually do it

I used the "add image" button to add an image to a listing that was not only active but had a bid. All seemed to work OK (I tried it twice) and the last pop-up confirmed the image was added. But in fact it wasn't. ?! Neither on ebay nor in Auct. What I'm missing?

May as well add my other complaint. The pop-up window to select images from stored *always* opens at the same small size & 25 images. It *never* remembers that just a moment ago, and repeatedly, I enlarged it & used 50 or 100 images get what I need. Doing a series of listings is like working with a stubborn mule that never learns. #@%* Am I wrong that similar windows can remember what you just used. Any fix?
