Adding Image tags into a custom template

I have just purchased a custom template from a web designer for use on ebay. The instructions say to add images through a 3rd party image hoster such as photobucket. I find adding in each image every time very time consuming and am wondering what I need to do to the HTML coding so that the template is saved with the [IMAGE1] tags and inserts images automatically for each listing. I have tried removing the 'http/photobucket/image....' code and replacing it with [IMAGE1] but I get a red X in place and the formatting goes out of shape. Is there anyone who can help with this?
