I'd trust it up to about 10 seconds. Beyond that they should probably bid on eBay. But I think most people that bid in the last 10 seconds already use http://AuctionSniper.com or have their own stop watches and methods set up. The bids I've done are all real fast though, but it does depend on eBays API.
