Reply to "API-ERROR Money Order"

Hi itsjustme,

Thanks for contributing. It's actually not very out of the ordinary that you did not receive these errors when posting items directly through eBay when you were receiving them when attempting to post them through Auctiva. Listings that are posted through eBay's API (which is the system third party services like Auctiva use to share information with eBay) undergo a different validation process than those posted directly through the eBay website.

A good example of this is that eBay will reject listings posted through their API if they have the word "cookie" in them and return an error suggesting the listing contains Java Script code that is not allowed by eBay policy. However, if you try to post a cookie jar or something similar directly through eBay, you would be able to post it successfully without recieving that inappropriate error.

In any event, in all the cases I have seen in which users have received these errors from eBay indicating that "money order" is being offered, I have been able to find the text "money order" somewhere in the listings. That error can still be returned if the context surrounding the use of that text is to clarify that money orders are not accepted.
