Reply to "Are you allowed to create a 'reserved' auction listing in eBay?"

Hi, maybe I can help you, I understand what you mean, I have done this before, but not bidding, only a buy it now, if you can't do a buy it now yet. I wouldn't list it until you have enough feedback as required, then list it as buy it now, and I would put in my auction, Do Not buy..etc. and then for reserved like you said, I always used the word "private" auction for "XYZ". but never used the persons real ID. Like for my ID, I would put *o**st*re = momzstore. Title could read: Silver Necklace-Private Auction-DO NOT BUY. I Do not know if it's ok with ebay or not. I have only done it a few times, when an auction ended, and someone forgot to bid, and made me an offer, then I would relist it at the offer price. Or better yet, I just thought, when doing a buy it now, set it high, and then do a "best offer" you could then except just your friends offer, but you need to be quick, just in case someone else makes the purchase.

If you do not want to wait, you can just set the bid high, and then refund the money to your friend the price you have set. I don't want to lead you wrong or get you in trouble with ebay, best to do everything by the book. I am very honest with ebay and my auctions, and still I have had about 3 auctions pulled.

Just hang in there! We all started out in the same place you are in now, and it's like a little kid waiting for Christmas, seems likes it takes forever for your feedback score to get higher, but you'll get there!

DSR's are those little rating stars on the upper right hand side of a seller's page, that rate the seller..I am sure you have seen them.

My advice is to wait until you have the required feedback, then do a buy it now, it's not much, so it will happen fast. The best advice I was given when starting out, was just to list some very simple things @ .99 cents, ship very fast, and your FB score will rise in no time. Good Luck!
