Auctiva SECURE checkout?

Have you ever bought something on eBay yourself, only to be sent to a third party checkout that asks for your Paypal screenname and password? I get really nervous at this, even though I myself send my customers to Auctiva checkout.

Once, I was sent through a checkout I never heard of, and backed out, but found no other way to submit the payment, so I immediately changed my paypal info after that payment! Probably just paranoid, but seems like an easy phishing procedure?

I've had customers who haven't heard of Auctiva send me emails asking me what Auctiva is, and since I use the insuarance feature, and make allot of extra money with it, I don't want to turn off the Auctiva checkout, but is there anyway of letting a buyer know that the checkout procedure is secure? Is there anyway of knowing another third party's check-out is secure, or a phishing site? .... Anyone?
