Reply to "Calculated Shipping"

Hi. Yes, up until now I have had to use flat-rate.
As you can see by the date of my above posting, that was in response to the time when they told us that Auctiva had announced that they were going to "fully support Ebay.ca" At that same time, Ebay and Canada Post had offered us a shipping calculator and so I was asking Auctiva if by "fully supporting ebay.ca" they would be fully supporting the shipping platform as they do for the USA and probably other countries (?).
Check out some of the other posts regarding the same. I believe the latest one was in June. There has never been a response to our question/request and my last response to another Canadian was simply that Auctiva's answer to the question is undoubtably in their silence on the matter.
So, how have I charged? Truthfully, I find Ebay a frustrating experience overall. Alot of work and time seems to go into making little money and the shipping issue just adds another time aspect to an already laboursome task. So, up until now, I have taken a West Coast pc. and an Central Canada pc, entered weight and dimensions on canadapost.ca and have charged that as a flat rate for shipping. Unfortunately this has meant that Western Canadians pay a little more for shipping and I end up absorbing the difference for East Coasters.
I intend on offering the new flat rate, but only as a means of saving if the customer desires to buy more. Otherwise, they might be paying a couple of dollars more than what their package weighs.
With Ebays new feedback changes, it makes it harder for Canadians again. I'm not certain, but I think that America has two pricing zones... we have four or five. And with Ebay's new feedback rules, we are being forced to absorb the material charges and only charge what is posted on the package. Otherwise we are going to be accused of overcharging and our rating will drop.
I haven't sold for a long time. It just doesn't seem worth it for the kind of things I sell.
