Can someone please tell me why I have tons of template bits and pieces in my image fo

I have been trying to find the answer but there is nothing anywhere to tell me why I have tons of template bits in my image folders. I do not know if I delete them will they affect my listings? And on another note if I deleted images that are not in active listings but are in saved listings is that ok to do? Can't i just go back and upload them again to the saved listings when I want to relist from the saved folders? Thank-you in advance if anyone answers these questions.
