Reply to ""Can Top-Rated Seller Program Help eBay?""

I personally hate the top seller program.

It makes sellers far to vulnerable to unscrupulous buyers (and possibly competitors) If you sell 300 hundred items a month 2 unhappy buyers can take you out of search standings for three months.

eBay knows there are dishonest buyers in the marketplace and acknowledged that with their feedback extortion policy. It is a mystery to me why they would then employ an anonymous DSR policy with no accountability for the buyer and no avenue of redress for the seller.

My sales are down for October due to only a Above Standard rating brought into being by 2 low DSRs out of hundreds.

Does eBay do the math that with my decreased sales, their fees are proportionately diminished? In September I paid $900 in fees and in October it will be closer to $340.

Have the Wall Street analysts figured the impact of this on eBay's profitability?
