If this model was still available, I would recommend it. The cartridges are indestructible. I'm on my second one, and I believe I paid around $10 on ebay for it.

My father owns a Brother and has never had any issues with him. It appears to be a bit more solid unit than my Samsung, but I don't believe either is a bad choice.

Whatever you pick, be sure the Cartridges are inexpensive. Also, try how many prints you can get out of a single cartridge.
