Custom Items listing problems

Hi!
Hope someone can help please..
I have tried to post a listing that required 'Custom Item Specifics'
I Upgraded the store details to include custom items, and I have successfully managed to add 2 custom item details to the preview of the listing, however when I try to post to EBay it comes back with an API error stating I need to have custom items specifics.
???
Am I missing something?
