customizing the scrolling gallery

I just starting to customize an aucitva template. I was wondering if there is a way to customize the scrolling gallery to match the customized template as well? In the lister you cant check the box to have it match the template.

also can I change the background from basic black in the center table where all the info is, to my own background gif?
