I have had that happen too. I think the problem in my case was that I used a template with black background - of course the text should automatically be white, but it wasn't. So the description was actually there, it just couldn't be seen since it was black on black. What I did was to manually change the text to white while I was typing it in - difficult because you can't see what you're typing. But the listing came out OK.
