Formatting and Preview Problems (Primarily with IE 8.0)

Hi Community,

As part of the site update we conducted earlier this week, we integrated a new version of the description editor that was necessary for security reasons into the Auctiva website. As a result, the description editor is now rendering text a bit differently than it did before and is causing some users (primarily IE 8.0 users) to have trouble formatting their descriptions and/or see things differently in the preview then they appear within the editor.

Our engineering team is looking into this issue to see if there is something we can do to correct how the formatting in IE 8.0 and I will post further updates on this situation to this thread as additional information becomes available.

If any of you are currently using IE 8.0 and are experiencing this problem, you will most likely be able to work around the issue by using the Firefox browser or an earlier version of Internet Explorer. The Firefox browser can be downloaded for free from http://www.mozilla.com and Internet Explorer 7.0 can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/windo...ads/ie/getitnow.mspx in the “Get Internet Explorer 7” section in the bottom-right area of the page.

If you continue encounter the same problem when using Firefox or IE 7.0, it is probably a case in which the underlying description HTML was not being rendered properly before our last site update but is being rendered correctly now. If this is the case, unfortunately, you will likely need to remove all the formatting from your description and then reformat it using the tools on the description editor toolbar.

The easiest way to accomplish this in most cases would be to highlight your description test in the "Standard" version of the editor and then click the "Remove Format" button on the editor toolbar, which has an icon of a rectangular eraser on it. This should remove all the underlying formatting code that may be problematic and you should then be able to format your text effectively using the tools on the editor toolbar.

We apologize for any inconveniences this issue is causing. If you have any other questions regarding your Auctiva account, please feel free to contact our customer support team using the web form on the following page of our site: http://www.auctiva.com/help/requesthelp.aspx
