fractions in titles

Can anyone come up with a clever solution to this? I list on eBay for a stamp dealer and want to include fractions in the titles, eg for a penny farthing stamp: 1¼d - I am able to create this in Word then copy and paste it into the description in my details profile, but in the title, this gets rejected every time. I think it is an Auctiva problem rather than ebay as I could do it when I used Turbo Lister. If I try and use 'slashes' it looks confusing, eg 11/4d or 1 1/4d for a penny farthing. Any ideas?
