FREE postage?

On the Preview Why is the 'Shipping Cost' shown as FREE even though I haven't put a"0" in the Cost Field. I have highlighted "SELLER's STANDARD RATE" It doesn't change, no matter what postal service I select. Unless I leave the "First Domestic Service" as -SELECT- when nothing shows
