It depends on how wide your pictures are. 400 wide x 300 will widen the listing to the point where the customer will have to scroll to the right to see the whole listing if they'rer using 800 x 600 resolution. And most do. It's not fatal, but it's considered to be "not a good way to do it".

If you do a little searching around on this board, you'll find code for making your images smaller, say 140, and linking them back to the original images by clicking on them. How big you can go and still put them in pairs is actually limited by how wide your surrounding elements are: borders, cellpadding etc.

It isn't hard, and you can learn alot through experimentation.
