You're right, I just checked right now and the CTRL+Scroll does nothing within the uploader. But my font sizes are fine in the uploader. I'm running Ubuntu 8.06 and Firefox 3.05.

What distribution of Linux are you using?
Check if you have sun-java6-plugin installed.
