I would counsel that a new pricing model often "reflects" what is or might be a new paradigm in a relationship and method of operation. To make it simple, there is never a price without a reason (or service) for justification (IMO). Also, exclusivity sometimes comes with a price that can invert a business model to operate different, but better for co-op members.
I see things in the Auctiva pricing model that make me want to "wait and see" what eBay is going to announce (hopefully soon). That's what I'm counseling for those sellers that I directly advise.
The eBay seller's "natural condition [of late] is one of insurmountable obstacles on the road to imminent disaster". Somehow, I think this mystery on WHY? all these seemingly obtuse charges from Auctiva has a happy ending and will turn out well.
