is there an Easy way to make Templates NARROWER?

most eBayers have screen resols at 800x600 right? I do & when I use Templates I always have to finagle the html to keep them from running off the right side of the screen--it's a major stessor for me! Is there an easy way to do it? Like is there a certain string of html to look for? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
