Reply to "Java Add on in Firefox"

Hi BarbaraLil,

Thanks for contributing to our forum. Although I am pleased to hear that you are now able to use the Auctiva Uploader when using the Internet Explorer browser, I would just like to clarify you should still be able to use the Auctiva Uploader when using the Firefox or Chrome browsers in case you need to do so in the future.

Since you continued to receive a message indicating the Java plug-in used by the Auctiva Uploader in Firefox needs to be installed after going through the installation process, I suspect there is an issue with the update of Java you currently have installed - which is used by the Auctiva Uploader in both Firefox and Chrome.

If you are interested in pursuing this further, the first thing I recommend doing is checking the status of the Java plugin which should be installed on your Firefox browser by selecting “Add-ons” from the Tools menu and looking for the plug-in called Java Platform in the Plugins section.

If you find that the Java plugin is present on the list but is marked as disabled, I believe you will most likely be able to resolve this issue by enabling the Java applet from that interface and then restarting your browser.

On the other hand, if you do not find any reference to this Java applet on the “Add-ons” page, I recommend uninstalling any versions of Java that you have installed from the Uninstall a Program section within your Control Panel and then downloading the latest version of Java from:

http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

I hope this helps. If you need any further assistance with this, please feel free to contact our Customer Support team by mousing over the “Help” tab on our site and selecting the “File Support Case” option.
