Actually it's not losing the profile, I know it's weird that the profile selection box gets cleared, but your profile is saved in that listing. At least that's what I've noticed. After I select a profile and save a listing, then reopen it, the profile (master) selection box says -Select-, but my profile is still saved in the auction.
