Need help with pictures and custom template.

I figured out how to get the custom template up but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the pictures where I want them. I would like them under my header. Right now when I select pictures, they all go under my template. Before when I used the Auctiva template, I could choose if I wanted them on top or bottom or if I wanted them paired. But now I do not have that choice and I am lost. Do I have to use HTML codes for my pictures? I hope not, I paid someone to design my idea and I am not very good with HTML. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
