Hi all...I'm sorry if these questions have been covered in the past. I've read previous posts for way too long and can't find the answers.
I have both Auctiva insurance and Auctiva Checkout enabled.
First, a non-insurance question...regardless of whether insurance in purchased or not, am I supposed to be getting a delivery confirmation when I ship packages? All my auctions that I put up last week only charge for the actual shipping charges, not including the DC. I had my first sale yesterday and went ahead and ate the cost & got it though...just to be safe. If I should be getting a DC everytime, I'll be sure to add that to my shipping costs in the future.
Next, I noticed at Ebay in the Seller's Preferences>Combined Payments & Shipping Discounts area, when expanded, there is an option that says "Specify Insurance on Combined Packages". Is this option supposed to say Yes or No?
Then, if you go to Edit your options in the Combined Payments & Shipping area, at the bottom it says "Insurance Rules (applies to all listings" Click 'Edit' (or Create if not already created) there and it pulls up a choice selection and a chart that you're supposed to fill in with the insurance amounts. Am I supposed to choose "Optional" because my Auctiva insurance is optional, and then fill that chart in, or is this chart only for people who don't use Auctiva insurance?
Finally, Paypal takes a 2.9% + .30 fee for every payment I receive from a buyer. I originally thought that 2.9% was on my item's selling price, not the entire transaction, including shipping. This means that Paypal is also getting 2.9% of the insurance amounts whenever a buyer chooses insurance...correct?
Oh yeah, sorry for the horribly long msg...just trying to get everything answered at once. I just remembered one more... In my preferences, I do not have any combined shipping preferences listed. This is because with a flat rate box/envelope sometimes I'll be able to combine and sometimes I won't. If a buyer purchases more than one of my lots and I am able to combine their shipping, how does that work on the invoicing? Is the "buyer can edit total" field supposed to say "Yes" for my auctions so that they can change the shipping amount or what? (I've never invoiced before so don't have a clue how that works yet either...)
