Newbie confused learning how

Hi all. I'm lost and confused trying to learn how to use the basic features of the site. I went to check out Tutorial more than once - the first time I was not allowed to download it so I could print it out, and tonight the Tut barely fit on my (huge) monitor screen so I couldn't read it. I checked about Online Classes and found out I'm out of luck because i use 56K Dial-up. Yikes! Not being the brightest guy around I need to be able to follow a basic a-b-c format unil I get comfortable/familiar with using the site. Obviously I'm missing something because all you good folks have learned what I need to know. Can anyone tell me how/where to read & download simple straight instruction please? I thank you all in advance for your time and consideration.
