I'm almost certain the answer is Yes to max on Pixels.

Example: I have a 1496W x 1122H shot (unedited) taken at 1.7MP with my Kodak that was resized to around 1023W x 767H after upload. That seems to be standard for my Landscape shots. My Portrait shots seem to max around 768H x 575W

I do recall someone else posting some exact info on the issue in the past. You might search around the Forum.

More: I did some more looking and testing and my best guess at the resize limits are maximum of 1024p Wide and 768p High. I had a 6.1MP shot that was cropped to nearly square and the upload was resized almost exactly 768x768. None of the pictures in my library exceed either of those two restrictions, despite many being (originally) 6.1MP full or cropped images.
