I love everything about this festival with the exception of the night/adult parade. It's getting a really bad reputation as being well, outta hand with nudity, bartering for beads and more..and to be honest..that's just not my cup of tea for a night out.
My older son who used to go to the night/adult parade hasn't gone in three years due to the level that it dropped to..and trust me, that boy loves a party and doesn't mind a bare breast being shown in the least bit! <smile> My 18 year old went once and said, that's enough for me, never again. They aren't snobs or anything..it's just gotten way outta hand.
They'll both go to the day parades and more..but the night time..nope!
The rest of it, I love...it's family friendly.
