Reply to "Thanks for Blogs on our Stores"

The way to get the new Auctiva Store to use your own domain is 2 parts.

1.) enter the domain name into the store tab.
2.) go to your domain registrar, that is the place where you bought your domain, and enter a dns entry. We have some instructions in the store tab for those using GoDaddy. Other sites will be similar so that help file might be enough for you to figure out things at your domain registrar.

Unfortunately just using a forward wont work. You have to use a DNS entry to get it to work and keep your domain name in the URL bar when buyers view your Auctiva Store.

If you use a CNAME dns entry use the name: storefilter.auctiva.com

For example if you were going to use store.yourdomain.com you would use a CNAME and point it to: storefilter.auctiva.com

The same can be done for www. You'd create a cname www that points to storefilter.auctiva.com

It's a little tricky but you need to do this one time so that your domain registrar knows to send people to our site when they type in your domain name.

Alternately if you purchase a domain name on oru site on the Store tab we hook all of that up for you because we've got an API that lets us program it in from the start through the domain registrar we're using to purchase the domain.

If you need help file a support case, include the domain name you're trying to set up, and your registrar and we'll try and help or get more sets of instructions up for more Domain Registrars such as Yahoo Domains, and Network Solutions.
