Maybe I didn't understand you correctly. I thought they asked for your credit card in an incident related to auctions not posting. So you were just paying your fees?
They shouldn't ask you for your paypal password. The address, yes but not the password. eBay OR paypal will NEVER ask you to give out your password in an email.
