upgraded to windows 7 and IE9 now spell check won't load

Got new computer and now when I go to use spell check the spell check box pops up but just stays blank and freezes, can't close or do anything.Is there some setting I need to change? I unblocked popups with no effect.

Thanks in advance for the assist.
