Uploading from Mac shrinks pics

The Auctiva uploader says it will automatically resize as necessary. Unfortunately, it is resizing all my pictures to 16 x 16.

I edit them in iPhotos (and I have tried avoiding iPhotos and editing them in Mac Preview) and save them to my drive. They are typically then between 100k and 250k, although I have tried with a variety of sized files, including straight from my camera an large.

Any ideas what is going wrong?
